Wardrobe staple: chunky platform heels

To the left, you see the beautiful Lita heel by Jeffrey Campbell.. I've been really into heels like this lately, and this shoe is literally the epitome of my favorite kind of heel. I've always preferred chunky heels over the classic pump heel because it's sturdier and easier to walk in. The Lita is a 5 incher. I've been living in heels lately and a 5 inch heel doesn't seem so big to me anymore. I used to steer clear from heels all together because I'm already almost 5'10", but I got over that and started to wear them non-stop. At present, I feel awkward without them. I've gotten so comfortable in chunky platforms that wearing a regular stilleto is uncomfortable to walk in. The platform makes all the difference in the way of comfort and walking ease. I always tell people that when they're heel shopping. It's rule of thumb for me. You could walk the city in these if you wanted to and your feet wouldn't feel like a monster truck ran them over at the end of the day.
This is my favorite kind of heel because of the ease and comfort in walking, but they also give a higher sense of glamor and style to an outfit rather than the basic pump or stilleto. For me, this shoe will never go out of style. Even when I am 90 and people are dressing like Xena the warrior princess in space, I will still be wearing this shoe. Seriously.
This is my big Spring/Summer 2011 must have in the way of shoes for sure. And it has become a staple in my wardrobe. I think every girl should have a pair like this in her closet. For girls out there that are afraid of heights, so to speak, don't be afraid to be really tall. You get used to it after awhile.
I like that you can wear this shoe with so much as well. From dresses, to pants, to shorts... it's really versitile. Did I mention this shoe comes in tons of colors and prints too? Because it does. (May I suggest checking out the floral tapestry ones. So fantastic.)

How I wear it: My favorite way to wear these is to pair them with a pair of riding pants and a sleeveless button up tucked in. Don't forget the right bag to top it off.

The Jeffrey Campbell's are available on solestruck.com for $160, but less expensive alternatives can also be found. Like these.

Cheers,
Georgia Bevard xoxo
